Binary Weaving
Binary code is a form I use as a metaphor for our political climate of combative words. In these small weavings I translate the 1s and 0s into black and white weft threads, translating text into black and white patterns. This simple patterning both highlights the opposition in the minefield of political rhetoric, while also neutralizing the content of the words themselves. They don’t “read” as words, and thus seem harmless.
